Hobson Industries can support all close protection vehicle requirements and in the current environment, a discrete protection vehicle has its place in any fleet for providing occupant safety. With heightened threat levels worldwide and an increased need for armour in many urban situations, a conventional armour system is neither desirable nor practical.
Hobson Industries Limited provide full design and development services for covert protection systems on any platform of choice giving consideration to serviceability within local markets. 4x4 derived platforms are a speciality and have proven to be the most adaptable dynamically to absorb the installation of a protection system, however, we have very successfully developed solutions based around conventional passenger car platforms. To meet with the broad range of threat levels, we offer protections levels to B6+ for all covert protection systems.
The protection system developed by Hobson uses high impact resistant armour plate, a versatile product which retains its original ballistic properties across a wide range of temperatures (-40°C to +50°C).

The armoured steel is manufactured with the capability to defeat the following ammunitions (see below) and our assembly methods carry this integrity through the design process ensuring a comprehensive protection cell. This is complemented by high quality transparent armour and composite products protecting the remainder of the passenger cell.

With our assembly methods, great consideration has been given to Through Life serviceability and support and all components can be replaced or repaired in situ using local labour. The benefit of such processes permits the non destructive removal of the protection system and improved residual values of decommissioned vehicles are another key factor for the modern fleet operator.
All protection systems are rigorously tested, in both ballistic and dynamic terms, to provide the very best solutions and we undertake development of bespoke chassis dynamics to suit the overall package.
